Understanding Topics Reports

Context-sensitive help topics require that you have TopicAlias markers inserted in your source documents. ePublisher generates context-sensitive help topics based on the topic IDs you specify for each TopicAlias marker you insert in your source documents. Each time ePublisher detects a TopicAlias marker in a source document, ePublisher generates a context-sensitive help topic based on the topic ID. For more information about creating context-sensitive help topics, see “Creating Context-Sensitive Help in FrameMaker” on page 121 and “Creating Context-Sensitive Help in Word” on page 220.

You can use the Topics Report to verify that context-sensitive help topics have been created for each topic ID specified in your source document. The Topics Report lists the topic ID and the topic file created for each topic ID.

Configure the notifications you want ePublisher to generate for Topics report settings before you generate Topics reports. For more information about configuring Topics report settings, see “Configuring Reports” on page 314. For more information about generating Topics reports, see “Generating Reports” on page 315.
